REFERENDUM 24 MAY 2018 in Osgodby Village Hall
The Localism Act 2011 introduced statutory Neighbourhood Planning in England. It enables communities to draw up a Neighbourhood Plan for their area and is intended to give communities more of a say in the development of their local area (within certain limits and parameters). The Parish Council concluded that producing such a plan was the best way to ensure that our parish grows in a manner and pace which is controlled by those living in the parish and is in the best interests of the parish.
We have produced a Neighbourhood Plan using a similar process to that for the Parish Plan a few years ago. Unlike the Parish Plan, the Neighbourhood Plan will be a legally recognised document with a full legal bearing on planning for the next twenty years. Please look through the plan which is attached below. Further supporting documents are available on the WLDC website (use web-link below) and on the Submission Plan page.
The referendum on 24 May asked the question "Do you want West Lindsey District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Osgodby to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?" It required more than 50% of those voting in the referendum to vote "Yes" for the plan will be brought into force. The result of 75% in favour of the plan clearly shows that this is something which the community genuinely wants and supports..
