Chapel of Our Lady and St Joseph, Osgodby

Chapel of Our Lady and St Joseph, Osgodby

This Roman Catholic chapel is most interesting, as it was built in 1793 to comply with anti-Catholic penal laws that were still on the Statute Book.
It was the kind of chapel in which Roman Catholics had worshipped during the harsh days of legal repression.
Osgodby chapel is one of the few late 18th century Roman Catholic chapels left in Britain.
